The Green Mountain Falls/Chipita Park Volunteer Fire Department responds to wildland fires within a 12 square mile area that includes Green Mountain Falls, Chipita Park, and unincorporated El Paso county. A portion of our district is located in Teller county.

We also respond to Teller County, El Paso County, US Forest Service, and Colorado State Forest as a mutual aid resource.

The department responds with two Type 6 brush trucks, 840 and 841, one 1,500 gallon tender, 862, and one 1,000 gallon tactical tender, 825.

There are 12 red carded members on the department, including two NWCG engine bosses.

During the wildland fire season brush truck 840 is made available for national wildfire response through the Colorado State Forest Service. The truck and it's crew are deployed to fires through out the west including California, Oregon, and Montana. The truck and crew may be deployed for up to two weeks.
